Multiple Teams · Rock Hill High School Announces 12 Student Athletes Sign to Play at Next Level


Rock Hill High School is proud to announce that 12 student athletes have signed to play at the next level bringing the total signed this year total to 18 athletes to sign National Letters of Intent. Rock Hill High does three signing dates – first week of December, First Week of February, and First Week of May. It is unfortunate that the twelve could not be recognized at Rock Hill High but we would like to honor their achievements in both the classroom as well as on the field or court.

Football – Anthony Jackson Jr.  – Signed with UNC Charlotte

Anthony played defensive back four years at RHHS – 2019, 2020 All Region, 2020 N/S All-Star Game

Girls Basketball – A’Myra Wise – Signed with Spartanburg Methodist College

A’Myra played girls basketball for three years at RHHS – All-Region 2018-19, 2019-20, Top Senior selection Region 3-AAAAA 2019-20, Senior season averaged 10.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals (2019-20 season), 3.3 GPA, Team Captain 2019-20

“I plan to major in Business Administration. I choose SMC because of the school’s size, cozy campus and the closeness of school to Rock Hill, I enjoyed my visit and bonded with coaches Hannah and Macy as well as other members of the team. Their style of play suits how I like to play and  like how the coaches plan to utilize her within their system. I want to thank my mother Lanelle N. Roddey and my father Corey Wise for their continued support and love. This would not be possible without them. My motivation is my Grandfather Michael Roddey who passed away during my  Sophomore year. I wear the #25 in his honor and lives by the motto “Doing it for Michael, RIP PawPaw”. He was my biggest supporter and #1 fan.”

Wrestling – Bailey Wilkins – Signed with Gardner Webb University

Bailey wrestled for four years at RHHS – Individual State Champion 2017. 2018, 2019, 5A Wrestler of Year (2020), All-State/All Region 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
“I will never forget the opportunity I had to better myself as a person and wrestler while I was at Rock Hill High, and I chose Gardner Webb because I know that they will give me the same opportunities that I had during my time as a Bearcat Wrestler. Once A Bearcat Always A Bearcat”

Boy Soccer – Claudio Ortiz – Signed with USC Lancaster

Claudio played varsity soccer the last three years at RHHS.

“I would like to thank my parents who always gave me the support I needed and never hesitated to help me go as far as I want, a big influence in my life has been my whole family they have all taught me how precious something can be and to always make the best of what you have. I’ve had a lot of great memories but one that really stands out to me was the JL Mann game where we were knocked out and we all knew that we had to come back the next year not only for ourselves but for the seniors that year who that was their last highschool game. ”

Girls Basketball – Dynasty Pichardo- Signed with USC Salkehatchie

Dynasty played at RHHS the past three years as a varsity player. She was selected all-region in 2018-19 and 2019-20. She plans to major in Accounting with the long term goal of becoming a successful Accountant. Current GPA 3.83

“I chose USC-Salk because of coach Glenn Mayo and staff. I felt like the coaching staff truly cares for the players and loved the family atmosphere witnessed during my visit. I will miss my teammates. I had the pleasure of being surrounded by a great group of girls these past few years. I will forever be grateful for my teammates. Ladies, enjoy the moment, soak it all in because before you know it will be over. Always remember, I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me  I wants to thank my mother Lilly Pichardo for her unwavering love/support and my younger brothers.”

Track – Eliel Cuesta – Signed with Gardner Webb University

Eliel was a multi-sport athlete at RHHS. He played both football and track and participated in the high jump, long jump, triple jump, and pole vault. He also had a very successful senior season as a football starting wide receiver.

“I want to thank God and my family for letting me make it this far. I will also like to thank all the coaches that helped me and believed in me.”

Boy Soccer – Kaleb Crochet – Signed with North Greenville College

Kaleb was part of the RHHS Soccer program for four years.

“Excited to say I will be furthering my education and soccer career at North Greenville University. I would like to thank my parents for all the support. Also would like to thank Coach Robles for the countless hours of practice and dedication that he put into the Rock Hill soccer program. My favorite memory and thing I will miss the most about the team is the family bond that was created and tournament Thursday during soccer class #family #fortheville”

Girls Soccer – Madison Lambert – Signed with Limestone College

Madison played on the RHHS girls soccer team for four years. She will major in physical therapy.

“I signed with Limestone College to play soccer. I want to major in physical therapy. I had a great time playing and growing with some of my best friends. I will miss all of the teachers, coaches, and friends that helped me get to this point. “

Boy Soccer – Nathan Pearce – Signed with North Greenville College

Nathan was part of the RHHS Soccer program for four years.

“I’m excited to say that I will officially be attending North Greenville University to play soccer and continue my academic career, majoring in mathematics & engineering. I’d like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and my  closest friends for always trying to get the best out of me and bettering me as a person. My favorite RoHi soccer memory would have to be the Charleston tourney my sophomore year, where I scored two goals in my first varsity start. Always remember, once a bearcat, always a bearcat!”

Wrestling – Samantha Neff – Signed with Limestone College

Samantha has been part of the RHHS Wrestling Program for three year, finally competitively wrestling with the addition of a girls program in 2019-20.

“I will be attending Limestone College. There, I am looking forward to studying business and to continue growing my experience in wrestling.”

Boy Soccer – Skyler Fields – Signed with USC Lancaster

Skyler has been a part of the RHHS Boys Soccer Program for four years. He was on the all-region team in 2019.

“I would like to thank my family and Coach Robles for getting me to where I am today. There’s no other group of people I would wanna grow up around other than these guys. That being said,  I’m attending USCL in Fall to finish out my soccer career, Once a bearcat always a bearcat”

Girls Basketball – Unique Burch – Signed with Spartanburg Methodist College

#21 Unique Burch (5’7″ Guard) participated one year in the RHHS Girls Basketball Program. Plans to major in Criminal Justice at SMC

 

“I chose SMC because it felt like home and  loved coach Macy’s energy when I visited the school. Going to SMC gives me the opportunity to play the game I love on the college level which I hope will help me in obtaining the goal of playing professionally.I will miss the FAMILY atmosphere that LadyBearcatBB represented for me and my teammates on and off the court. The bus rides and competition we faced on any given day. The schedule we played was no joke. Trust the process, Believe in yourself and Do all you can do to be the best you can be. I want to Thank all those who stood by my side through my difficult journey, my teammates, friends, teachers, administration and most of all my Head Coach Kenny Orr who believed in me and pushed me “No Holds Barred” to be the best I could be in everything I do, on the court and off the court. Live everyday like it’s your Last”
